D-backs honor fallen firefighters

19The Arizona Diamondbacks are honoring the memory of 19 firefighters from Prescott, Ariz., who perished fighting the Yarnell fire with a series of tributes and a memorial patch that will remain on the team's jersey throughout the season.

During the July 5-14 homestand:

  • D-backs players and coaches will wear newly-created black tribute jerseys with "Arizona" across the front and a white patch over the heart bearing the No. 19. These one-of-a-kind, game-worn tribute jerseys and nameplates from the D-backs clubhouse are signed by the players and will be up for auction until Sunday, July 14 at dbacks.com/auctions. Proceeds from the online auction will benefit the fire relief efforts through the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation.
  • Yarnell jersey
  • Proceeds from the 50/50 Raffle, supported by Western Refining, will benefit the families of the tragedy.
  • All active, reserve, retired and veteran military personnel, as well as active or retired fire and police personnel, can receive a 50% discount on up to four tickets. Buy Tickets »

To support the 100 Club of Arizona, American Red Cross and other charities that will assist the affected families and communities, fans can make a donation at dbacks.com/donate. Fans who donate $19 or more will be entered for a chance to win a team-signed home white jersey with the name "Yarnell" and No. 19.

To date, over $500,000 has been raised via proceeds from the online auction, 50/50 Raffle, fan donations and $200,000 in matching donations from the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation.
