The Colorado Rockies Young Adult Leadership Award seeks to recognize young adults who demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to make their community a better place.
Eligible students: Colorado residents, high school juniors or seniors and college students in their first, second or third year of study, students with a 2.8 GPA or higher (teachers will verify this requirement), and students who have completed a minimum of 5 hours of community service per semester during the last calendar year.
Students: You will be writing an essay about the importance of giving back to the community and the role you play in making your community a better place. The essay must be factual, including personal experiences.
Contest guidelines for school teachers and/or administrators: (1) Collect all essay entries by March 28, 2014. (2) Also by March 28 email Marisol Villagomez at firstname.lastname@example.org with the total number of participating students from your school. (3) Please review all essays and submit your "top three" to the Rockies by no later than Wednesday, April 9, 2014 (entries must be typed and emailed as an attachment to email@example.com). Please note that it is up to the teacher to verify that the student meets each of the requirements. Colorado resident, student is a high school junior or senior or in their 1st - 3rd year of college, and ensure the student holds a GPA of 2.8 or higher, and has completed a minimum of 5 hours of community service per semester during the last calendar year.
