Senior Director, Information Systems »

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Information Systems is responsible for the administration and effective operation of the Information Systems (IS) Department. The department has responsibility for ensuring that information flows effectively and timely throughout the organization. The IS team has full responsibility for developing and managing a comprehensive support system for the Colorado Rockies information infrastructure and telecommunications at Coors Field, Salt River Fields in Arizona and the Club's academy in the Dominican Republic.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of a long-term vision for the Colorado Rockies Information Systems Department
  • Overall management of the department to include hiring, performance reviews, job evaluation and employee training recommendations
  • Manage and direct IS staff assignments (direct and indirect reports)
  • Formulate and manage the annual operating and capital budgets
  • Documentation of network systems, design and all department procedures
  • Provide leadership for all technical support
  • Maintain and develop existing programs/solutions, evaluate and recommend necessary equipment and upgrades, identify outsourcing requirements and provide expertise for new and improved systems for expansion
  • Hot site development and activation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and infrastructure best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Ballpark Operations

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Degree in Information Systems Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years related experience including
    • Technical systems management
    • Information Systems security management
    • Network design
    • Network administration
    • Personnel management and staff development
  • Proactively assert leadership example with co-workers
  • Must be able to translate technical issues into language that can be easily understood by non-technical managers and staff
  • Proactive communication across the organization to maximize service support and strong ability to work effectively in all levels of the organization in a team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Consistent, punctual and regular attendance
  • Professional image and demeanor
  • Flexible work schedule to include weekend and holidays as needed

Account Executive, Corporate Sales »

Achieve revenue goals through targeting, qualifying, and generating corporate business sales in the areas of in-stadium signage, video board features, print ads, promotions, hospitality and media (TV, radio, digital/social).

Primary Responsibility - Achieve Revenue Goal

  • Possess a proven track record of prospecting, researching, and developing new and existing relationships in order to further establish business through sponsorship sales.
  • Achieve individual and team revenue objectives as determined by the Vice President of Corporate Sales and the Colorado Rockies organization
  • Customize sponsorship proposals to meet objectives for new and existing clients
  • Negotiate annual and multi-year contracts
  • Maintain continuous market research in the areas of sports sponsorships, economic developments, and best practices in order to build on existing partnerships and to develop new business for the Colorado Rockies.
  • Possess strong Prospecting and "Cold Calling" skills (i.e. referrals, networking and research)
  • Target, qualify, and generate new corporate sales business
  • Ability to communicate effectively to support staff and to work with the Corporate Sales team to achieve common goal(s).
  • Renew Existing Accounts
  • Maintain a productive customer/account relationship at Colorado Rockies home games and outside the office (i.e. breakfast, lunches, dinners, golf, etc.)
  • Maintain relationships to ensure customer/account retention and to maximize revenue opportunity
  • Oversee Implementation/Delegation of Sponsor Contracts
  • Willing to assist with any task or detail (i.e. community/special events, sponsor trips, and activation of contractual elements)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with support staff and leadership to ensure fulfillment of all contractual elements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years sales/marketing experience in the sports and/or entertainment industry with the main focus being corporate sponsorship sales and business development.
  • Must maintain outstanding standards with quality and quantity of work as well as professional conduct and appearance
  • All candidates must submit a four-page Power Point slide presentation on "How I will build business for the Colorado Rockies"
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate home games, sponsor/community events, and travel throughout the year

Ticket Services Representative »

Position provides first line assistance and supervision for seasonal part-time staff and leads in a group/team atmosphere. Selling individual tickets, tours of Coors Field and answering customer questions from A-Z also required, while presenting first class customer service to fans.

Assist in department coordination with Theme Day/Event Specialists with other departments. Assist management as needed.

Duties:

  • Assist department management with call center supervision and training
    • Coaching, training, and development of up to 2 lead representatives and 18-21 part-time Customer Service Representatives and/or Theme Day/Event Specialists
    • Initiate and cultivate team morale to assure individual success
  • Manage High School Baseball Program
  • Coordinate between departments with staffing and administration of Theme Days and special events. Past events include, but are not limited to Star Wars, BBQ Invitational, Brew Fest, Weather and Science Day, Bark at the Park, Military Appreciation Day, Peanut Free Day and a variety of parades
  • Implement strategies to meet department goals and objectives
  • Assist in staff training and preparation of training materials
  • Handle escalated calls
  • Provide support assistance to various departments throughout the organization for special projects
  • Illustrate leadership, and provide role model qualities to all part-time and lead customer service representatives
  • Monitor customer service representatives according to the established quality assurance guidelines and provide proper feedback and coaching points for improving performance

Qualifications and Experience:

  • College degree preferred

Promotions / Special Events - Mascot Assistant/Operations Staff »

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will assist in all duties of the Colorado Rockies Mascot Program, and assist the Promotions/Special Events department with numerous game related activities as well as the many non-game day events produced by the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club. This position is physical in nature with time requirements on nights, weekends and holidays. Employment will typically begin in early March and end sometime in October. Duties will include:

  • Assist our Mascot, Dinger, with guest interaction during Rockies' home games and Dinger appearances out in the community
  • Perform, when needed, as Dinger, Sasquatch, and Comfort Dental Characters
  • Support pregame activities on-field including: National Anthem, color guards, first pitch, group salutes and other special guests
  • Assist with set-up, maintenance, and financial aspects of the kids Interactive Area
  • Assist with sponsored programs and inning features
  • Support in-stadium promotions
  • Assistance required for game day special events including: Opening Day, Opening Day Fest, Faith Day and other concerts, Fireworks, Fantasy Camp Reunion, Photo Day, Military Appreciation Day, among other events
  • Assistance required with non-game day special events including: Rockies Fest, Youth Clinics, Client BP, 5k Home Run for the Homeless, charity golf tournament, among other events

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mascot performing experience of at least 1 year at Collegiate or Minor League level.
  • Costume requires height between 5'10" and 6'2"
  • Work schedule driven by but not limited to Colorado Rockies home schedule
  • Typical shift of this position is approximately 6+ hours with several shifts exceeding 12+ hours
  • Must be able to perform in extreme heat and with limited vision
  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • The ability to adapt to changes in schedule or tasks
  • Commitment to work 75+ home games and 90% of special events
  • The ability to work with others as well as independently

  • Drag, rake, level, tamp and water the playing field
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of irrigation system
