Analyst - Baseball Research and Development »

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will collaborate with the Research and Development team and will assist in the development and maintenance of a player information and projection system along with other statistical analysis and on field strategy. This position requires strong statistical development skills and experience as well as a demonstrated ability for independent curiosity and a commitment to excellence while working within a team framework.

  • Operates and maintains all Audio/Video equipment needed for the Event.
  • Responsible for Event day setup and alignment of the Daktronics Boards, Matrix boards and LED fascia systems.
  • Expected to exercise independent judgment in times of immediate need or emergency situations.
  • Interacts with Clients on Event set-up and Operation.
  • Assists in other work areas in the department or ballpark as needed or directed by the Audio/Video Manager. Duties are not specifically limited to the identified areas listed above.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours due to the type of organization that employs this position. Advance notice will be given for schedule changes whenever possible.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques to analyze large datasets for actionable conclusions.
  • Design and document development of new analytic applications to assist in player evaluation.
  • Utilize existing Baseball Research and Development applications and databases in order to perform quantitative research related to baseball strategy and player evaluation.
  • Work with Baseball Research and Development team to design and integrate new statistical ideas into existing analytical systems.
  • Build automated solutions to import, clean and update datasets for use in downstream analyses.
  • Complete ad-hoc database queries to answer specific questions from Front Office colleagues.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


    Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, and/or demonstrated knowledge and experience in a Statistical Field.
  • Experience developing advanced projection models.
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets through R.
  • Demonstrated knowledge developing large-scale functions in R.
  • Relevant Skills
  • Familiarity with other statistical software such as Python (SciPy) a plus.
  • Familiarity with relational database query and development in SQL Server or MySQL.
  • Familiarity with machine-learning concepts a plus.
  • Working familiarity with advanced statistical concepts, particularly those relevant to sabermetric player evaluation techniques.

Baseball Systems Developer - Baseball Research and Development »

This individual is a Baseball Systems Full-Stack Developer that will work within the Baseball Research and Development Department to collaborate and assist in the maintenance and development of proprietary databases and APIs, as well as the implementation and maintenance of data extraction, cleaning, conforming and load scripts. This position requires a demonstrated ability for independent curiosity and a commitment to excellence while working within a team framework.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Database Administration
  • Maintain and update an internal data warehouse to support reporting and analytics.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose data issues within the data warehouse.
  • Design and implement necessary schema changes or additions.
  • Monitor multiple database environments including development, staging and production systems.
  • Provide documentation and reporting on the status of the data warehouse.
  • Extraction, Transformation and Loading of Data
  • Develop, test, and optimize ETL scripts.
  • Work with multiple data formats including XML, JSON, CSV, MySQL and SQL Server.
  • Review and analyze potential data sources for completeness, accuracy and validity.
  • API Development
  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing API Servers, as well as develop new APIs for future applications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


    Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field (candidates still in school with extensive work towards such degree will be considered).
  • Experience working with SQL-like databases such as MySQL, SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with a scripting language such as Node.js, Python, or R.
  • Experience collaborating on code with the use of source control such as Git.
  • Experience parsing XML, JSON and CSV formatted data.
  • Basic administration of UNIX-based servers, or Windows 2012 R2 Servers.

Web Developer - Baseball Research and Development »

This individual will collaborate with the Baseball Research and Development team and will assist in the continued development of the Rockies’ proprietary Web Application. This position requires strong web development skills and experience as well as a demonstrated ability for independent curiosity and a commitment to excellence while working within a team framework.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    UI/UX Design
  • Develop extremely intuitive, easy to use interfaces and experiences for various applications and non-technical users.
  • Design for multiple form factors including but not limited to iPhone, iPad, Chrome, Safari, desktop, laptop, and large television size screens.
  • Design highly custom, easy to understand reports that showcase data and statistics in a creative and effective way for a variety of different users and use cases.
  • Create a design standard and style for all of our internal applications, reports and tools.
  • Web Development and API Integration
  • Maintain and contribute to various Colorado Rockies internal web applications.
  • Utilize data visualization libraries to create interactive charts and graphs.
  • Integrate with third party and internal APIs to retrieve and display data.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


    Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field (candidates still in school with extensive work towards such degree will be considered).
  • Web development experience using HTML 5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience using a Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework such as Angular.io, Backbone.js or Reacts.js. Understand the separation of concerns that an MVC framework provides.

  • Experience with a Data Visualization Library such as D3.js.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary role of the In-Game Host is to assist In-Game Entertainment with select features/pieces throughout Coors Field game day run of show. The In-Game Host will foster the family atmosphere established at Coors Field and act in a professional manner in all situations while performing and interacting with fans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Host live to board inning break features with selected fans
  • Ability to speak eloquently, concisely and professionally with selected fans while adhering to prepared feature script
  • Ability to ad-lib and think on feet is a must
  • Ability to handle unexpected situations
  • Ability to learn and communicate in broadcast technical terms.
  • Candidate may be required at appearances both on game days and non-game days.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge and adherence to Major League Baseball In-Game Entertainment guidelines
  • Candidate will have a flexible schedule; availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities
  • Excellent oral communication; ability to speak Spanish a plus
  • On-camera experience preferred
  • Theatre, acting, performance work not required but preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    We have Guest Service Representative positions available in the following areas:

  • Gates - Greet guests, check and scan tickets, conduct bag checks for prohibited items, provide accurate ticket scan counts
  • Usher - Greet guests, check tickets, assist guests to seats and provide quality service to enhance Guest's experience
  • Interactive Game Area - Greet guests, monitor lines, restock balls, ensure payment for game, and ensure Guests' safety. Close interaction with children/parents, and ensuring that ballpark policies are followed
  • Guest Relations - Greet guests, assist guests getting into the park, give directions, assist with Guest birthdays and special occasions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Colorado Rockies Baseball Club is seeking a group of energetic and outgoing individuals to be members of the Rally Crew team. If you enjoy baseball, and supporting the Colorado Rockies, this job is for you!

The main job function of this team will be to promote the Colorado Rockies during games offering an energetic approach at entertaining and pumping up the crowd at Coors Field. Members of this team will also be expected to take part in in-game activities and performances, and also represent the Rockies organization at outside events, marketing initiatives, and community appearances.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be 19 years of age or older by April 1
  • Must be a high-school graduate or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable wearing cheerleader-like attire. No visible tattoos or body piercings
  • Flexible Schedule: Must be available for the majority (mostly nights and weekends, some holidays) of Rockies home baseball games, as well as outside appearances. Members will also be required to be on call for select games throughout the season.
  • Rally Crew members must also be comfortable serving as ambassadors at a variety of community, sponsor, marketing and media events throughout the season.
  • Able to serve as a professional representative of the Colorado Rockies Brand.
  • Comfortable performing on camera and in front of large crowds at Coors Field, which could potentially include dancing and throwing towels and t-shirts to the crowd.
  • Comfortable being photographed professionally for posters, calendars, etc.
  • Approachable, personable, and energetic.
  • Teamwork skills required, able to work well with others and keep a positive attitude.
  • Must have the ability to remain active and on your feet for long periods of time, including: walking up and down stairs, lifting props and delivering promotional materials.
