CAREER: Joined the Major League staff in 1984...has worked the All-Star Game (1989, 97, 2002), Division Series (1996, 99, 2002-04, 06-09, 11-12), League Championship Series (1990, 92, 95, 98, 2000, 01, 05, 10) and World Series (1996, 99, 2004, 09, 12)...served as the crew chief for the 2009 World Series and the 2010 ALCS...was the crew chief for both the 2012 All-Star Game in Kansas City and the 2012 Fall Classic...attended the Al Somers Umpire School (1976)...previously worked in the Midwest League (1976-77), Eastern League (1978), American Association (1978-82), Florida Instructional League (1977-78) and Puerto Rico Winter League (1979) one of three umpires to have worked an all-time high 10 Division?Series, along with current umpire Tim Tschida and the retired Bruce Froemming...has worked an all-time high 40 Division?Series games...his 106 career Postseason games are third most all-time and the most among the active staff entering 2012.
