Rockies back in black for opener
Club hoping to recapture mojo from late-season charge
ST. LOUIS -- Opening Day is baseball's version of a formal affair, so the Rockies figured why not dress in black.
Actually, it's one of the ways the Rockies can carry some of the 2007 mojo into the new year.
At the end of the regular season and through the National League Division and Championship series, the Rockies wore black in nine of 10 games and won them all.
The only time they didn't wear black was Game 2 of the NLCS, when the D-Backs donned their black -- and forced the Rox into gray -- to attempt to destroy the momentum. The Rockies won that one, anyhow. It wasn't until the World Series that the magic wore off.
