Fan can represent Rox at All-Star Game
One of three finalists to go to Midsummer Classic
Three finalists per Major League club were chosen out of thousands of nominations from across the United States and Canada of "everyday All-Stars," people who have gone above and beyond to serve their community.
Fans are invited to vote in the All-Stars Among Us campaign, a presentation of People Magazine and Major League Baseball, for the 30 winners from June 8-24. One winner will be chosen as a representative of every club, and all 30 will be honored Busch Stadium in St. Louis for the July 14 All-Star Game. One club representative also will be featured in People Magazine.
Here are the finalists for Colorado:
* Dr. William Doug Jackson of Littleton, CO, is President/CEO of PROJECT C.U.R.E., a humanitarian organization with global impact. Every year the Denver-based non-profit ships millions of dollars of donated medical equipment and supplies to developing nations around the world. It has provided critical relief to people in more than 120 countries.
* Jennifer Hanson of Westminster, CO, is president of the Internet Safety Foundation created to keep kids safer in cyberspace. She and her teen iCrew travel around Colorado to educate youth, parents, teachers, and law enforcement about avoiding online predators, dealing with cyber-bullying, and being a smart social networker.
* Darrell Scott's daughter Rachel was the first person killed at Columbine High School in April 1999. To honor her, he launched the nonprofit Rachel's Challenge to spread her message of good will and compassion. By sharing Rachel's story and inviting students to "start a chain reaction" of kindness, Scott has helped change lives and prevent suicides.
