Rockies release Cactus League slate

First spring tilt set for March 4 against rival D-backs

11/20/09 6:02 PM EST

The Rockies open up their final Spring Training campaign in Tucson, Ariz., on March 4 when they take on the D-backs at Tucson Electric Park.

The contest kicks off a 31-game Cactus League schedule, which includes 15 home dates at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson. The Rockies, who have trained in Tucson since 1993, will move their spring operations to the Phoenix area in 2011.

The team broke ground on the facility, which is located on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land just west of Loop 101 and north of Indian Bend Road, on Monday. The National League West rival D-backs will share the facility with the Rockies.

The first home game of the spring will take place March 6 against the Brewers and the final game at Hi Corbett will be March 31 against the D-backs.

Spring Training tickets will go on sale Jan. 9 at 9 a.m. MT. Tickets can be purchased at ColoradoRockies.com.

The schedule includes a game against the D-backs on March 14 which will take place in Hermosillo, Mexico. It will mark the first time Colorado has played a Spring Training game in Mexico since facing the Padres in the city of Culiacan in 2001.

The Rockies will wrap up their spring schedule with a pair of exhibition games against the Mariners in Albuquerque, N.M., home of the Triple-A Isotopes. Information for fans who want to purchase tickets for the two games at Isotopes Park is available by calling (505) 924-2255. The Rockies most recently played in Albuquerque in 2005, when they faced the Rangers in the final exhibition game of the spring.
