CHICAGO -- The night of Aug. 23 already has been circled and highlighted on White Sox fans' calendars as favorite son A.J. Pierzynski's return to U.S. Cellular Field with the Rangers.
It also happens to coincide with Elvis Night, one of the more popular promotions of the year. That full 2013 promotion schedule was released by the White Sox on Wednesday and can be found at whitesox.com/promos.
Joining the Elvis theme night are Dog Days on April 23 and Sept. 16 and Halfway to St. Patrick's Day, presented by Miller Lite, on Sept. 14. Thirteen Family Sundays and 13 fireworks nights are scheduled, including every Friday night home game starting April 26 and July 3 Independence Day for the fireworks.
Family Sundays, sponsored by The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital, feature seats in bleacher, outfield reserved, lower corner and premium upper box sections for just $15. Upper box and upper reserved seats will be available for $10, and upper corner tickets will be priced at only $5. Parking is only $10 at each Family Sunday game.
Premium giveaways include a Paul Konerko bobblehead presented by Pepsi on May 11, which falls on the same day as Mother/Son Night during Mother's Day weekend. A Mother's Day tote will be given away on May 12.
A Harold Baines bobblehead presented by Comcast SportsNet will be given away on April 27. Magnetic schedules, rally towels, White Sox knit bomber hats, drawstring bags, puzzle cubes and White Sox green caps represent part of the vast giveaway list.
Individual tickets for all 2013 White Sox home games go on sale Thursday, Jan. 24, the day before SoxFest begins. Season-ticket plans are available at whitesox.com or by calling (312) 674-1000.
