The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

San Diego Padres Minor League catcher Rodney Daal has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second violation for a drug of abuse. The suspension of Daal, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League, is effective immediately.

Free agent Minor League right-handed pitcher Nick Fleece has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second violation for a drug of abuse. The suspension of Fleece will be effective immediately upon his signing with another Major League organization.
