Major League Baseball and USA Baseball announced today that the annual Breakthrough Series, which exposes a diverse group of some of the top high school baseball players in the country to professional scouts and collegiate recruiters, is expanding in 2014 to four regional locations and will showcase approximately 200 players, the most in the event's history.

Giants Minor Leaguer Jones suspended
The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that San Francisco Giants Minor League second baseman Ryan Jones has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for an Amphetamine, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Robin Roberts named keynote speaker for the MLB Beacon Awards Luncheon

MTV2 and MLB today announced that hip hop icons Sway and Fat Joe, as well as "Girl Code" and "Guy Code" stars Chris Distefano and Melanie Iglesias, will host "Off the Bat from the MLB Fan Cave," a new series premiering in April on MTV2.
Opening Series Sydney to be telecast on MLB Network
Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association jointly announced today that MLB Network has been selected as the national telecast partner in the United States for the MLB Opening Series Sydney between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers.
