DENVER, CO - The following statement from the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club is in regards to right-handed pitcher Juan Nicasio who left last night's game after being struck in the head by a batted ball.
Juan Nicasio is resting comfortably at a Denver hospital following surgery early this morning to stabilize a fracture to the C-1 vertebrae in his neck. Juan will remain hospitalized as he recovers from the surgery.
The next update regarding Nicasio will be with Rockies head athletic trainer Keith Dugger at 3:30 p.m. today in the interview room at Coors Field.
