Taveras' MRI reveals stress fracture
Rockies center fielder out for final five games of season

Taveras said he has played through discomfort for the last three weeks.
"This is for my good," said Taveras, who has been unhappy with being in and out of the lineup from the season's first month. "Something can happen at any time, and it can be worse."
Head trainer Keith Dugger said it's unclear when Taveras was injured, but he believes it occurred when he was decelerating. Taveras, hitting .251 and leading the Majors with a Rockies-record 68 steals this season, has been experiencing pain while jogging but not while sprinting.
Taveras was supposed to lead off Wednesday's game. Instead, second baseman Clint Barmes was moved to the top spot and callup Dexter Fowler played center and batted eighth.
