Rockies 20th Anniversary Logo Introduced
Team Will Wear a Special Uniform Patch During the 2013 Season
DENVER – 2013 represents the 20th anniversary of the Colorado Rockies in Major League Baseball. To commemorate the organization’s 20th anniversary, the Rockies have developed a logo that will be featured throughout the 2013 season.
The logo prominently features the number 20 to commemorate the 20 years of Major League Baseball for the franchise. The logo’s base color is purple, the signature color of Rockies baseball. The iconic mountains that represent the region are featured at the top of the logo and the Rockies “CR” from the club’s hat sits at the base of the peaks. The overall shape of the logo is a diamond to represent the national pastime.
Each day the Rockies take the field in 2013, the team’s uniform will feature this patch. The patch will be worn on the right sleeve of the Rockies home white, alternative purple and road jerseys, and on the chest of the black sleeveless uniform. The patch will be worn all season and, as such, will be the fifth of its kind in franchise history. Previous patches included the Inaugural Season in 1993, Coors Field opening in 1995, All-Star Game in 1998 and the 10-year anniversary in 2002.
Merchandise featuring the logo is available at all Colorado Rockies Dugout Stores beginning today. There are six Colorado Rockies Dugout Stores along the Front Range.
