Rockies place RHP Edgmer Escalona on the 15-day disabled list
Club recalls LHP Josh Outman from Triple-A

The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has placed right-handed pitcher Edgmer Escalona on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation retroactive to June 10. To replace Escalona on the active roster, the Rockies have recalled left-handed pitcher Josh Outman from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Outman (#88) will be available for tonight's game vs. Washington (6:40 p.m. MDT) at Coors Field.
Escalona, 26, made his first Opening Day roster and has gone 1-2 with a 4.18 ERA (32.1 ip, 15 er) with 7 walks and 27 strikeouts in 21 appearances this year for the Rockies. He has limited opponents to a .143 average (3-for-21) with runners in scoring position and has yet to allow an inherited runner to score (5 inherited runners) this year. In 62 career games, Escalona is 1-3 with a 3.75 ERA (86.1 ip, 36 er), 76 hits, 25 walks and 64 strikeouts.
Outman, 28, will be making his second stint with the Rockies this season after beginning the year at Triple-A Colorado Springs. Outman was first recalled on April 19 and appeared in 19 games for the Rockies going 2-0 with a 4.94 ERA (23.2 ip, 13 er) with 7 walks and 26 strikeouts. The left-hander has appeared in 79 career Major League games/32 starts and is 11-11 with a 4.4.72 ERA (215.2 ip, 113 er), 83 walks and 173 strikeouts. As a reliever, Outman is 3-2 with a 5.08 ERA (51.1 ip, 29 er) with 16 walks and 59 strikeouts over 32 appearances.
The Rockies currently have 39 players on the 40-man roster.
