Rockies non-tender RHP Mitchell Boggs

DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies announced tonight that the club has not tendered a contract to right-handed pitcher Mitchell Boggs for the 2014 season, making him a free agent.
Boggs, 29, split the 2013 season between the Rockies organization and the St. Louis Cardinals organization, playing in the Majors and in the Minors for each club. He began the 2013 season on the Cardinals' Opening Day roster where he went 0-3 with two saves and an 11.05 ERA (14.2 ip, 20 er) in 18 games before being optioned to Triple-A Memphis. The Rockies acquired Boggs from St. Louis on July 9th in exchange for cash considerations. Boggs made nine total appearances for the Rockies, going 0-0 with a 3.12 ERA (8.2 ip, 3 er). Overall in 2013, the Dalton, Georgia native went 0-3 with an 8.10 ERA (23.1 ip, 21 er) in 27 Major League appearances and 1-6 with a 6.07 ERA (46.0 ip, 31 er) in 34 Minor League appearances. Boggs has pitched in parts of six Major League seasons with St. Louis (2008-2013) and Colorado (2013) and owns a 13-15 record with a 4.12 ERA (316.2 ip, 145 er) in 241 games, 15 starts.
The Rockies have 37 players on the 40-man roster.
