Homer frenzy
Photos
Rockies 11, Athletics 9
Ian Stewart is congratulated by third-base coach Rich Dauer on his solo homer. (Jeff Chiu/AP)
The Rockies slugged their way to a series-clinching win by homering in each of the first four innings. Brad Hawpe began the barrage with a two-run shot in the first inning, the 100th home run of his career. Lost behind all the offense was a strong start by Jorge De La Rosa.
