Community Fund Golf Classic

On May 14, 2015, Oakland A's held the 33rd Annual A's Community Fund Golf Classic, presented by Chevron and Kelly-Moore Paints, at Round Hill Country Club in Alamo. Proceeds from the event benefited the A's Community Fund. The Chevron Eagles for Education® program donated $2,500 per eagle on the 18th hole-for a maximum donation of $50,000-with the funds benefiting the A's Community Fund, Northern California Golf Association, and The First Tee.

The A's Community Fund Golf Classic was launched in 1982 to directly raise funds for the A's Community Fund, established in 1981. The annual event is the largest fundraiser for the A's Community Fund, which supports charitable organizations in improving the quality of life for people throughout the Bay Area.

The A's raised $34,709 at the 16th Annual Root Beer Float Day. Current and former Oakland A's players, local celebrities, and various Bay Area radio and television personalities were on hand to serve root beer floats.

Since 2003, the A's have raised over $448,000 for the JDRF this event.

Special thanks to Dreyer's for donating the ice cream and Zevia and Whole Foods Market for donating the root beer.

The 17th Annual Root Beer Float Day is July 19, 2016.

Breast Cancer Awareness Day

The annual A's Breast Cancer Awareness Day has benefitted the American Cancer Society, Cancer Prevention Institute of California, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Over the past 16 years, this event has raised more than $1.5 million for breast cancer education and research.

Funds were raised through the sale of special ticket packages, commemorative pins, hats, pink jerseys, heart ribbon pendants, an A's autographed quilt raffle, and fan and sponsor support.

Pregame ceremonies featured over 500 Bay Area breast cancer survivors forming a symbolic human ribbon on the field in dedication of hope and survival, and the release of white doves as a symbol of hope.

In addition, as a part of "A Gift of Faith" grant, the A's donated $5,000 to the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic in memory of longtime KTVU Channel 2 reporter, the late Faith Fancher.

The 18th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day is September 4, 2016.

On August 8, 2015, Oakland Athletics hosted the 3rd Annual A's Bowling Bash. The A's Bowling Bash event brings together A's coaches, players, and the community for a fun night benefiting the A's Community Fund.

Holiday Party at the Zoo

Oakland A's Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson and current A's first baseman/outfielder Mark Canha made the 2015 holiday season special for a group of deserving children at the A's Community Fund's annual holiday party at the Oakland Zoo, presented by Round Table Pizza. Henderson and Canha signed autographs and took pictures with students from Vincent Academy located in West Oakland, a reward for the students' excellent attendance and classroom behavior. Each child received a wrapped gift, courtesy of the Good Tidings Foundation, and the day also included face painting, arts and crafts, and a visit by Santa and A's mascot Stomper.

Silent Auction

Every Saturday and Sunday home game (and select weekday games), the A's Community Fund hosts a silent auction featuring both signed and unsigned A's memorabilia as well as game-used items. The silent auction is located in the A's Fan Center behind Section 120 and ends with the last out in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Proceeds from the auction benefit the A's Community Fund and various other local charities. Purchased items are tax deductible.
